Counselling

Counselling can help you overcome life's challenges. I will not give you my opinions, advice or prescribe medication. I will help you find your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with your difficulties.

You have made that first important step by considering help.

Whatever the reasons you are seeking support, finding the right counsellor for you is part of the healing process, which is why I offer a free no obligation 15-minute telephone or video conversation. This gives each of us a chance to get to know each other and see if we can work together.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions each client needs varies due to the difference in requirements. At your initial consultation appointment, we will agree how many sessions and the regularity. Finding the balance is important.

Upon booking your appointment you will receive a confirmation email or telephone call if needed, to confirm time, date and details about the appointment.

The ultimate aim is for you to become the expert at understanding and managing your own difficulties, both now and for the future.

Fees

Most therapy takes place in planned, regular sessions. Fees are payable on the day either by cash or by bank transfer.

  • An individual session is £40 for 50 minutes.
  • Couples’ session is £65 for 1 hour (first session 90 minutes)
  • Concessions may be available please ask.

In-person

The Log Cabin provides a safe, professional, nonclinical and confidential space, for you to explore your thoughts, concerns, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and others.

Talking therapies can help with many difficult life problems - from coping with traumatic experiences and events, to dealing with depression and anxiety or managing harmful emotions and behaviours.

 Walk & Talk

Taking counselling out of the therapy room and into the great outdoors.

Being close to the Thames Estuary and Belfair’s Woods, gives clients the option for outdoor therapy, which can help with just about anything indoor therapy can.

Research shows it’s useful for those who feel stuck in therapy, for survivors of institutional and therapeutic abuse, and for those who have had bad experiences of therapy.

Online & Phone

Online and Phone therapy provides accessibility to counselling, and can provide an easy avenue for getting started.

People who live busy lives or are unable to leave their home for various reasons, such as physical or mental illness, may find this option a useful alternative to traditional in-person psychotherapy settings.

Especially people who are disabled or housebound, as mobility can be a big issue when it comes to accessing mental health care.
